Where's the proof?
It's fair to say that the ISL Strategic Leadership Programme has stood the test of time.

A long list of participants from the commercial business, government, and NGO sectors who took the fast lift up to the top level.

You might well ask how did we achieve this level of success?

First we attracted the pick of the crop – senior executives from diverse sectors who had a strong desire to step up from transactional leaders to transformational leaders.

Some of them became CEOs and went on to hand pick others in their senior leadership team who they believed in and considered worthy of investing in.

A memorable example from the commercial sector was Mark Powell whose managerial career started in supply chain at Iceland, then operations at Tesco before he emigrated to New Zealand. Mark attended the ISL Strategic Leadership Programme when he was the GM of supply chain at the Warehouse.

Soon after he stepped up to the CEO of Warehouse Stationery and within 18-months landed the role of Group CEO of The Warehouse Group, the largest PLC retailer in New Zealand.

In the years that followed all of Mark's senior leadership team attended and collectively they built a high performance culture throughout the Group.

Stellar career trajectory examples also abound in the government sector.

One significant example was Bruce Ferguson, an Air Commodore who at the time was Head of People at NZ Defence.

Within three months of completing the Strategic Leadership Programme in 2000 Bruce was promoted right up to the top, and above the Chiefs of Navy, Army, and Air Force and he landed the Chief of Defence role.

The strategic thinking and strategy development skills he acquired on the ISL programme along with his heightened personal and interpersonal awareness resulted in the selection panel perceiving Bruce as a standout and a Game Changer.

Down in Australia, Professor Sandra Harding, an inspirational alumnus who attended the ISL programme went on to become Vice Chancellor of James Cook University and is now Patron of ISL.
