LEAD SELF
Leading self is a cornerstone of strategic leadership.
It involves understanding how you are wired up (personality), what your strengths and natural gifts are, and proactively recharging your Mojo and resilience.
It also involves periodically seeking objective feedback through a 360 process to ascertain how others see and experience your leadership style.
AsDaniel Golemanreminds us in his prologue to "Optimal", leading self involves ensuring that our attitudes and behaviours align with our espoused values, and that we are clear about our needs and hot buttons.
LEAD THE WAY
As a senior executive you need to not only be effective at "leading self", but you also need to "lead the way" to take others on your leadership journey.

Deploying strategy creation and scenario processes and tools to create a sustainable competitive advantage for the organisation you lead.
