Commissioner at Tauranga City Council, former CEO & Director at Infrastructure New Zealand
Stephen was appointed as a commissioner for Tauranga City Council in February 2021. In addition to his role as a Commissioner for Tauranga City Council, Stephen provides public policy advice to the infrastructure sector as a director of Selwood Infrastructure Advisory; and has been a managing director of Rapt Ltd, an online and bricks and mortar retail gift, decor and fashion business based in Auckland, since 2007.
Prior to joining Tauranga City Council, Stephen held former roles as the founding Chief Executive of Infrastructure New Zealand and as a member of the Board of the New Zealand Infrastructure Commission – Te Waihanga.
In 2019, he received the Infrastructure New Zealand leadership award for his contribution to the industry in New Zealand.
Stephen is a chartered member of the Institute of Directors in New Zealand and holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) and a Bachelor of Education from the University of Otago.
